Sarah Mozingo, MA
Sarah graduated with a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology and Mental Health Counseling program at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and legal studies at the University of Pittsburgh. Sarah brings experience from community mental health work, where she supported diverse populations navigating complex emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges.
She takes an integrative and client-centered approach to counseling, drawing from Constructive Theory, Reality Therapy/Choice Theory, and evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapies (CBT). She believes in the power of language, personal responsibility, and the co-creation of meaningful narratives in the healing process.
Sarah advocates for the LGBTQIA+ community and is especially passionate about fostering inclusive, nonjudgmental spaces where clients of all identities feel seen and supported. She is sex-positive and committed to honoring each client’s autonomy and values around intimacy, identity, and relationships. With a strong interest in working with individuals involved in the legal or forensic systems, she approaches her work with empathy, cultural humility, and a deep respect for her clients' unique contexts.
Guided by cultural competence, compassion, and curiosity, Sarah strives to holistically understand and affirm each client’s lived experience. Sarah works collaboratively to explore strengths, navigate life transitions, and support meaningful, lasting change.
